Ethos

Welcome!

Learning Curves was updated on June 11, 2015 after a very long hiatus.  Now, it is an ongoing adventure in living, personal growth, education without school, and a family journey.

I am the author.
Laurette Lynn, former host of Unplugged Mom Radio, Mom of 3 for 14 years, weird parent for almost 14.

I currently work as a consultant for communication and presentation.  I help people say whatever it is they wish to say, more effectively.

I have been facilitating academic education and providing learning support for my children, sans traditional school, for ten years.  Since 2012 I have been a perpetual student of Trivium principles and Critical Thinking/Logic as it applies to education and human development.  These concepts apply to and are infused into everything I do.

For fun I volunteer in local community theater, occasionally perform improv, and compete in speech contests and obviously, I blog about living as a family that doesn't go to school.

More credentials are available on my professional website: Laurettelynn.com

I'm inspired by:

Juliette Rose:  actress, songstress theatre kid, intellectual badass, pop-culture diva, excellent writer,  instagram guru, Literary junkie.

Darrien Nicholas: actor, theatre kid, mathematical genius, king of epic come-backs, Lego extraordinaire, improvisational extemporaneous.

Bryton Alexander: actor, theatre kid, comic, quick-wit zinger, athlete, competitive aristocrat, photogenic star of the lens.

Dean:  Too smart for his own good, thinker, entrepreneur, constantly challenging me to grow and improve, spouse.

Neo and Evie: Cats named after the Matrix and V for Vendetta

Flicker: Papillion, named because his ears make me think of flames.

A wide variety of family, friends, associates, mentors, mentees, Facebook fans and spiritual soul mates... perhaps YOU :)

This blog is our story.  Our adventures, our trials, triumphs, errors and the curve by which we learn and grow, ebb and flow, come and go.  Enjoy!

Pre- Renaissance Learning Curves was a living resource for the discovery, understanding and utilization of the trivium philosophy in education and independent learning.

Originally designed and drafted as a book, Learning Curves is an amalgamation of stored pages and new ideas, discoveries and conversations.   Balanced, healthy learning is an ongoing and perpetual experience that is weaved into the fabric of life; and that is why Learning Curves cannot truly offer value as a finite book.  Instead, the perpetually onward spiral of this concept is best presented in a way that remains flexible, open ended and able to grow, reach and thrive in an ongoing spiral of understanding and reinforcement of discoveries.
